Director of Membership Job Description

Role Summary:

The Director of Membership leads and develops the team responsible for the development, maintenance and execution of a chapter membership plan that results in member retention and growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sends welcome letters monthly, to each new member
  • Sends reminder letters to members needing to renew, in the month their membership expires
  • Communicates PMI and membership benefits in a compelling and articulate manner
  • Solicit PMI members in the chapter’s area for their affiliation with the Central Mass Chapter
  • Provide routine updates at the board meetings
  • Manage all PMI HQ membership-related items
  • Maintain the Chapter membership list via PMI DEP
  • Interface with the public and chapter members regarding membership information
  • Support board activities and programs that provide value to our members, as well as compel them to engage with us

Required Qualifications

  1. Current chapter member in good standing
  2. High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative
  3. Able to report status against the plan, regularly

Desired Qualifications

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office
  2. Strong leadership and relationship management skills
  3. Keen attention to detail as well as solid project management skills
  4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with subject matter experts

Est. Hrs/Month = 10 - 15 hours/month
