Role Summary:
The Secretary is responsible for recording and archiving all Executive Board Meeting Minutes and the Chapter Board Meeting Minutes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in all board of directors' meetings
- Keep records of all proceedings, actions, and chapter board meetings.
- Take notes during both the Executive Board Meeting and Chapter Board meetings. Send minutes to board members.
- Document all action items in the meeting minutes, as well as enter them in to the excel file for tracking.
- Track time during chapter meetings to ensure meetings is kept on schedule.
- Maintain archive of chapter board meetings and hand over to chapter historian.
- Maintain and deliver all permanent records to successor. Provide guidance and training to successor.
- Support board activities and programs that provide value to our members, education providers, partners, and sponsors, as well as compel them to engage with us
Required Qualifications
- Current chapter member in good standing
- High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills
- Able to report status against the plan, regularly
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong leadership and relationship management skills
- Keen attention to detail as well as solid project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with subject matter experts
- Knowledgeable in content management software (preferred: Joomla, Google Docs), email marketing (preferred: Constant Contact) and/or social media software (preferred: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook)
