Vice President Job Description

Role Summary:

Vice President is responsible to work closely with the President, as requested, in execution of all President responsibilities. The Vice President prepares to be president in the second year of the three-year commitment

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand and embraces the upcoming role as President, preparing to assume this role in the second year
  • Succeeds the President if s/he can no longer perform the functions of President, or is no longer in office
  • Works closely with the president in execution of President responsibilities
  • Sets agenda for and runs Board and Chapter meetings when the President is unavailable
  • Provides support to Chapter President and Directors as needed
  • Monitors Web-based activity for alignment with strategic and tactical goals
  • Oversees and drives strategic Chapter projects
  • Sets agenda for and runs the strategic meetings
  • Is Chair of the election committee

Required Qualifications

  1. Current chapter member in good standing
  2. High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative
  3. Able to report status against the plan, regularly

Desired Qualifications

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office
  2. Strong leadership and relationship management skills
  3. Keen attention to detail as well as solid project management skills
  4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with subject matter expert
  5. Previous PMI Board experience a strong plus

Est. Hrs/Month = 20 - 30 hours/month
