President Job Description

Role Summary:

The President is responsible for developing and communicating the Chapter vision, in cooperation with other Directors. The President is also responsible for the overall chapter operations, aligned with the Chapter vision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with PMI, PMI Region 3, Directors, constituents, sponsors, and others to develop the Board vision of our Chapter role
  • Is responsible for Board operations, from a strategic viewpoint
  • Removes roadblocks, supporting Directors in their roles
  • Is responsible for the overall financial health of the Chapter
  • Keep up to date on PMI strategies and operations, ensuring the PMI CMass is aligned
  • Sees that succession planning is carried out at the Director level
  • Ensures that new Directors receive training
  • Sets agenda and facilitates Board and Chapter meetings
  • Attends PMI Conferences
  • Member of R3 Committee
  • Resolves conflicts among chapter/Board members
  • Ensures that all approved functions are properly resourced
  • Implements change without disrupting operations
  • Listens to members' needs/requests and supports programs to meet and exceed these needs/requests
  • Is responsible for contingency planning for all Chapter activities
  • Mentors Vice President in his/her development for the role of next Chapter President
  • Provides any relevant postings to the Website
  • Is Ad Hoc member of all committees

Required Qualifications

  1. Current chapter member in good standing
  2. High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative
  3. Able to report status against the plan, regularly

Desired Qualifications

  1. Proficient in Microsoft Office
  2. Strong leadership and relationship management skills
  3. Keen attention to detail as well as solid project management skills
  4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with subject matter expert
  5. Previous PMI Board experience a strong plus

Est. Hrs/Month = 25 - 40 hours/month
