You Can Create Disney Magic Too: Lessons in Leadership, Management & Customer Service with Lee Cockerell
PMI Central Massachusetts is excited to present a session featuring the Former EVP of Operations of Walt Disney World Resort and current host of Creating Disney Magic Podcast, Lee Cockerell. If you've ever wondered how project management strategy works in a large-scale enterprise, this session is for you.
During the session, Lee will cover several key concepts, including the Chain of Excellence, which emphasizes the connection between leadership, employees, guests, and business results. He will also explore the importance of attitude and personal responsibility in creating a strong organizational culture.
Attendees will learn about the Customer Experience Cycle, including anticipation, arrival, experience, departure, and savoring, and how each stage shapes lasting impressions. In addition, Lee will discuss the four core expectations of customers: to feel special, to be treated as individuals, to be respected, and to interact with well-trained employees. He will also highlight the four expectations employees have of their organizations: to feel special, to be treated as individuals, to be respected, and to receive ongoing training and development.
The session will also address the different dimensions of competence, including technical, management, technological, and leadership skills. Finally, Lee will share practical insights on time management, focusing on the importance of hiring the right people, training them effectively, and treating them well.
In addition to the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a professional headshot session with an on-site photography company. Food will also be provided during the networking portion of the evening.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
Networking, food, and headshots will take place from 6:00 to 7:00 PM
The presentation will occur with Lee on-screen from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
About the Speaker
Lee spent ten years running day-to-day operations at Walt Disney World — 20 hotels, 4 theme parks, and a team of more than 40,000.
Before Disney, he held senior roles at Marriott for 17 years and Hilton for 8 years.
