Every day, Park Rangers all over the country speak with thousands of visitors from all over the world. The techniques they use were set out in 1957 by Freeman Tilden and are just as relevant today as when Tilden wrote them. Join us to learn how to use these techniques to improve your public speaking skills and communicate like a park ranger.
About the Speaker - Matt Villamaino
Matt Villamaino is the Regional Interpretive Coordinator for the Central Region of Massachusetts State Parks. Prior to his current position, he was the interpretive supervisor at Pilgrim Memorial State Park (Plymouth Rock). Technically, he started in the interpretive field at the age of 8 when he and a friend opened a dinosaur museum in his basement, donating the money to the Springfield Science Museum for "more dinosaurs." He is a Certified Interpretive Trainer, Certified Interpretive Planner, and Certified Heritage Interpreter.
