“Self-Organizing Teams-What is this?“
Speaker: Dr. Julie DeSot, Ph.D., PMP, PMP-ACP
Thurs, June 15, 2017
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Agile methodologies and the Agile Manifesto promote Self-Organizing Teams. What is meant by Self-Organizing Teams? A team is a group of motivated individuals working together toward a common goal. The self-organizing part comes in play with the team having the ability and authority to make decisions, adapt, and assign and manage their work. It’s less about “command and control” and more about mentoring and coaching. The project manager moves from task-master to servant leader; the team takes ownership in how work will be assigned and accomplished in each sprint.
This 1 hour webinar will demonstrate the need for development teams to have the authority and ability to make decisions…have empowerment. We will accomplish this by introducing the 5 essentials of self-organizing teams as well as the 3-step process to building these teams.
