Role Summary:

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial obligations, reports and serves as financial consultant for events and programs for the Central Mass Chapter


Duties and Responsibilities

Treasurer Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain accurate Chapter financial records of all transactions
  • Maintain the accounting ledger that records transactions related to the Chapter's assets, liabilities, income and expenses.
  • Maintain files containing all documents verifying financial transactions
  • Collect and deposit payments from Chapter meetings and events
  • Reconcile costs incurred by the Chapter
  • Provide payment to vendors and others as approved by the BOD
  • Track all invoices issued by the BOD for prompt payment
  • Manage and reconcile checking account
  • Generate and submit monthly financial reports to the BOD, which include income, expense, assets and liabilities.
  • Analyze cost impact/benefit of activities proposed by BOD Directors
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local tax laws
  • Generate and submit annual financial report to BOD
  • Prepare annual Chapter operating budget in conjunction with Chapter's strategic plan and in cooperation with BOD Directors
  • Track cost and income against approved budget. Report any significant deviations.
  • Manages asset/collateral log
  • Archive all permanent records on the Web-based operation center
  • Maintains Chapter's Post Office Box and stores financial records.
  • The Chapter provides the Treasurer with a laptop to do this work

2. High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative

3. Strong organizational and presentation skills

4. Ability to analyze and present financial data in an organized fashion

5. Motivated and committed to moving the chapter forward with strategic vision

6. Understands corporate financial administration and related processes

7. Agree to BOD Operating Agreement
