There is no shortage of information about the expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Transformation, and the impact it will have on every facet of our lives. Not too many years ago, there was much skepticism around the use of AI for anything other than repetitive tasks that could be duplicated through machine learning.
We now know that AI can be developed to perform complex tasks that were once performed by human beings and that the digital transformation of information is increasingly being utilized by organizations.
AI now exists in the automotive, aerospace, healthcare, and the financial industry to name a few sectors of what is becoming an exhaustive list of industries that are leveraging advanced robots. In fact, a report issued by the McKinsey Global Institute, in late 2017, suggests that as many as 375 million workers globally, or approximately 14% of the global workforce, will be impacted by automation and may need to evolve their skill sets to adapt to the impact of AI.

Dr. Mary Ludden is an assistant teaching professor in the Master of Science in Project Management Program at Northeastern University. She previously served as adjunct faculty in the MBA program at Southern New Hampshire University.
Prior to joining Northeastern, Dr. Ludden served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of National Government Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Anthem, Inc. Dr. Ludden was responsible for a portfolio in excess of $450 million of annual operating revenue generated from government contracts worth in excess of $2 billion consisting of both health information technology programs and business process programs and led over 3000 employees to achieving the highest level of government evaluation scores. Dr. Ludden began her career as a project manager leading both operations and technology projects within the healthcare setting. Dr. Ludden brings a breadth of expertise to her students, including project management, performance measurement, data analytics, information technology, and strategic planning. She is a frequent invited speaker on these subjects.
Dr. Ludden also holds an MBA from Husson University, is a PMP having been a member of PMI since 2010, and is a Certified Scrum Master. She lives in southern Maine and teaches on the Boston campus
